Advice on choosing the perfect piece of jewelry
To help you make an informed decision, I would like to explain the different options and their respective advantages in detail. My goal is to give you clear guidance so that you can choose a piece of jewelry that suits you perfectly.
1. The right stone shape
The shape of the diamond significantly influences the appearance of the piece of jewelry.
• Round (Brilliant): Timeless and classic, with maximum sparkle. Perfect if you prefer a traditional look.
• Princess: Square shape with a modern look and lots of shine. Good for modern designs.
• Oval: Elegant and feminine, with the illusion of size. Particularly flattering on slimmer fingers.
• Marquise or Navette: Elongated shape that makes fingers appear longer. Ideal for a dramatic effect.
• Emerald: Rectangular shape with step cut that highlights the clarity of the stone. Ideal for minimalist elegance.
Tip: Choose the shape that you like best and that suits your style.
2. Precious metal for the frame
The choice of metal influences the overall effect of the piece of jewelry:
• White gold or platinum: Modern, simple and particularly popular for colorless diamonds as it highlights the stone. Platinum is also particularly durable.
• Yellow gold: Classic and warm, particularly beautiful in combination with diamonds of lower color quality (e.g. J or K).
• Rose gold: Romantic and modern, great for different skin tones.
Tip: Consider which metal complements your skin color and suits your everyday life. If you already wear jewelry, a similar choice might make sense.
3. Pavé setting or solitaire?
• Solitaire design: Here the focus is on the central stone. It is simple, elegant and draws attention to the quality and beauty of the main diamond.
• Pavé: Small stones arranged closely together that decorate the ring band and add extra shine. Perfect if you want more sparkle and detail.
Tip: If you want a more eye-catching design, a pavé setting is ideal. For a timeless classic, a solitaire is recommended.
4. Carat weight of the diamond
The weight (carat) determines the size of the stone.
• 0.3–0.5 carats: Subtle and elegant. Good for everyday use.
• 0.5–1.0 carat: A classic choice with a beautiful balance of size and value.
• 1.0–2.0 carats: Large and eye-catching, ideal for a special wow effect.
• Over 2.0 carats: Luxurious and prestigious.
Tip: Think about your hand size and your lifestyle. Don't choose a stone that's too small, as the setting will also be smaller.
5. Diamond color
The color of the diamond is rated from D (colorless, highest grade) to G (slightly yellowish tone):
• D–E (colorless): Perfect if you want a particularly clear and elegant look.
• G–F (almost colorless): A good compromise between quality and price. These stones appear very clear in white gold or platinum.
Tip: If you are on a budget, GF is an excellent choice as these stones look high quality but cost less than E.
6. Clarity of the diamond
Clarity describes the number and visibility of inclusions (natural characteristics of the stone):
• FL (Flawless) & IF (Internally Flawless): Flawless, but rare and expensive.
• VVS: Very, very small inclusions that are invisible to the naked eye.
• VS: Very small inclusions that are barely visible. A good balance between clarity and price.
• SI: Inclusions that may be visible to the naked eye but are often hidden by the setting.
Tip: VS or VVS are ideal for everyday use. You save costs without any visible loss of quality.
I look forward to working with you to create a piece of jewelry that perfectly reflects your personality and your wishes.
